@digitalcheese i see, very useful info. honestly thats not nearly as bad as i was expecting. i know once it grows it'll become a bit more expensive but that should be a decent start to at least get a beta out for the site. thanks for the advice mate

i rly want to make a modern video hosting site with similar features as old youtube (customization, etc. similar to how vlare was), but heres where it deviates a bit. i want it to be super community based and i want it to have strong eastern niconico/bilibili influences as well. does anyone have any particular ideas as to where i can start? (i am well aware of the scale of this sort of project, i've been planning to figure out how to do this for several years at this point)
